Our story

Kia Ora, welcome to our story.

Aimee and Sarah here and we are MAGIC BEAN.

Where did it all begin? Well, with a baby of course! We met each other in Baby Bop and became good friends when our kids were around 6 months old in 2017. As our kids grew we dealt with many challenges that come with the ages and stages of children, and searched for products in New Zealand and overseas to solve our parenting problems. We also shared the product information with mums around, and they love them. So it began, in 2018, from a tiny bedroom in Palmerston North, Magic Bean was established. A few years on, now our store proudly stocks over 40 brands from all over the world. In 2022, based on 5 years of online selling, our first retail shop opens in Palmerston North. But wait, there’s even more good news: our second retail shop will open in Wellington next year.

Our business aims to help families through products that are ‘true, tried and tested”. So, we do the research - test the products, and do extensive checks into each and every brand we align with. Our customers can be confident that each item we stock exists to make their life as effortless as possible.

We're also a distributor for some international brands including:

  • Frii of Norway
  • FlapjackKids
  • Mideer
